Stripes And Polka Dots

The snow and the freezing temperatures have subsided and this week we are relatively back to normal.
Spring once more doesn’t feel quite the illusion and dreams of daffodils and blossom have once more taken a firm hold.

Brave fashion souls this week announced on Instagram that they had unleashed their ankles. The boot and sock have been cast aside and replaced by cropped trousers and naked ankle. I admittedly haven’t been that brave yet. But I’m on side-lines warming up.

However, my mind has firmly turned to Spring trends and stripes and polka-dots are two key players this season.
Two terrific and easy to wear pieces that fit into these categories and are so easy to wear are this Kamala polka-dot dress from Whistles .
The playful polka dot grows up this season – with its subtle spotted print, this elegantly designed shirt dress is a case in point. Toughen up its feminine features with leather ankle boots and a biker jacket. I’ve been wearing mine all over town from out to dinner to breakfast meetings.

Red Stripes

Nothing is as fresh as a crisp red stripe. This wonderful Mattieshirt from Baukjen and its stylish tie detail is an ideal wardrobe update.
Wearing this puts me automatically in a Spring mood.

The Mattie stripe blouse makes a subtle yet effortless statement. Wear it with denim or cigarette pants for a flattering and feminine look. I’m also planning on accessorising mine with layers of delicate gold necklaces.

It’s funny how much changes in a single week isn’t it. Last week I was bundled up in my Winter knits and biker boots.
However, today I’m looking forward to shedding my layers more than ever and adding lighter and brighter colours and textures to my dark Winter wardrobe.
We’re planning a Easter break which includes the biggest attraction of all, sunshine, – which is a concept so foreign and strange – I’m beginning to think it doesn’t exist.
And both these pieces that I have mentioned will be coming with me in my suitcase.
