Animal Print and Chain Reactions

The beginning of Autumn is always an exciting time when it comes to clothes. It’s a brand new fresh clean slate for our personal style journey.
Already the big exciting trends that are coming to the fore are an abundance of luxurious chocolate, caramel browns and animal prints.
Oversized necklaces, like the one I’m wearing here, are also an new exciting addition to the accessories cupboard.

These great fitting flared animal print trousers, perfect for this transitional time of year, are from Zara and so too is the light toffee cashmere knit.
I’ll link both these at the bottom of the page. I have been wearing this chain raw brass necklace from designer Laura Lombardi since I bought it. It adds something special to a plain knit and adds great texture to a shirt or dress.
I’m really excited to get my teeth into some divine browns and caramels this season and I’m already keeping a beady eye out for my other must have bits and pieces.
Fashion is meant to be fun and every season, in some small way you get to reinvent yourself through clothes all over again.

Laura Lombardi chooses vintage and recycled materials to create her sculptural jewellery. This oversized ‘Fede’ necklace is hand-assembled from gold-tone brass hoops to form an interlocking chain. It also looks so cool layered over a white tee.
It’s an investment piece sure – but you’ll wear it all Winter long.

Although animal print can look very intimating on the peg, it’s easy to style really. Tame it down with some neutrals like this camel knit and some same tone accessories and bob is your uncle. Some people like more is more but I find one statement piece is enough.
You always know you’ve hit the nail on the head when you’re wearing these trousers and not even batting an eyelid – until somebody goes – hey girl love your animal print.
