A Ganni Dress

Older and a little happier

This weekend I went back to Dublin and met up with some friends that I know and love since my twenties.

Although we are all much older now, and conversations were very different, we still had a lovely time.

The great thing I realised after that meet-up was that there are lots of great pluses about getting older too. There is no pretence, you say what you want to say, wear what you want to wear and go home when you want to.

Getting older is not all about wrinkles and decline.

With age comes more confidence, a greater sense of yourself and a stronger sense of your own style.

I find I enjoy everything a lot more now, squeeze more pleasure out of precious time with friends, enjoy my holidays more, and my wardrobe works harder for me and brings me immense pleasure.

During Spring-Summer, I love wearing flattering midi dresses. This Fairfax floral print chiffon wrap one – linked here from- Ganni , is a treat to wear.

Slightly longer at the back, this Ganni dress creates a lovely flowy swishy movement when you walk, and has delicate see through sleeves.
Ganni has a knack for creating beautiful dresses we just can’t resist – like this ‘Fairfax’ style, which will work practically year round. Cut from lightweight black chiffon and printed with orange blooms spotted also on their swimwear, it ties at the wrap front and falls to a ruffled asymmetric hem.

It’s a great dress up one for the evening or pair with tan sandals or trainers for day-time.

I’ve teamed the dress with this gem of a French chain bag – A bag that one never tires of, which has become one of French brand Sezane’s bestsellers, the quilted Belli is full of character with its quilted top-stitching at the front.
