The Allure Of Red Stripes

The Allure Of Red Stripes

When I walk into a store, my eye is automatically drawn to anything covered in red stripes. It’s like some uncontrollable magnetic force pulls me in their direction, and I’m powerless.
These days, I find red and white stripes more alluring than the traditional navy and white breton.
Whether it’s in the form of a cute t-shirt, or a skirt or like this midi-dress, not shy about coming forward.

This striped number I’m wearing from Zara has become a bit of a Pinterest And Instagram wonder.
God bless that Spanish high-street goddess – where would we be without her – hey ?. Although this dress is now sold out – don’t despair – this one from Mango is just as good.

How To Style It

The past few months, I have become a big fan of wearing this look – a midi-dress with a leather jacket and a pair of trainers.
Simple and stylish – it’s a no brainer.
If you are looking for a great little biker jacket this shiny vinyl one from Topshop is a great find. It’s bang on trend and a bargain to boot.

The Allure of Red

Red is a big trend for Autumn-Winter and how great is that. I love my greys and blacks as much as the next person but on a dreary Winter’s day, what’s better than being enveloped in a big red chunky knit.
It’s a color that’s ubiquitous in literature and today’s society for its manifold meanings. The symbolism-rich shade is the colour of liking on Instagram, passion, heartfelt love, the devil, temptation rage, bullfighting, blood, courage. You get the picture – red is hot stuff and it’s the colour of choice this season – not just for Christmas either.

Red accessories are a powerful tool too and can be used to spruce up an outfit.
