My Favourite Pieces From Monsoon AW17

Autumn- Winter is such an exciting season for our personal style.
When summer draws to a close, we get to wipe the slate completely clean and reinvent ourselves all over again.
This season conjures up images of brown leaves, cosy clothes, layering your favourite pieces, all washed down with hot chocolate and mulled wine. What’s not to love.
Dressing for the cold is so much fun, and if you shop the right pieces – remarkably easy to do.

In collaboration with Monsoon , I have picked some of my favourite pieces from their new stylish on-trend AW17 collection.
I have thought very carefully about every piece and everything I selected can be mixed and matched and will brighten up your chilly days no end.
Life is way too short to wear drab boring clothes. So why bother.

Each piece in my Monsoon Autumn-Winter 17 edit fits seamlessly into my Autumn-Winter wardrobe.
Monsoon have been busy incorporating all this year’s seasonal trends in a stylish but subtly chic way, and I think you’ll agree, these punchy stylish pieces are really lovely.
Pieces like the head turning leopard coat, the pleated skirt and the soft velvet blazer will last year after year.

The Leopard CoatAny fashionista worth her salt knows the value of a great leopard coat this time of year.
This Carrie Coat from Monsoon is a statement maker that ensures you stand out from the rest of the Autumnal crowd.
Cut to straight, knee-length silhouette for a little nod to 60”s chic – it’s made from warm wool and has great handy front pockets.
This year Monsoon have sprinkled their leopard with a little Wow factor by adding two double breasted buttons.
I’m definitely going to get heaps of wear out of this

The Cord Dungarees

I teamed my leopard print coat with Monsoon’s black retro-chic cord dungarees.
Just when you thought you might have kicked your cord habit when you were a little girl, they come right back into fashion.

These trendy ones from Monsoon AW17 are very chic – and a kick back to the Seventies, with their wide leg silhouette.
In black these are both grown-up and cool and would look equally at home with a pair of heels and a pair of chandelier earrings on a night out.
They fit true to size and have pockets to the chest, back and hips.

The Embroidered Blouse

I loved the colour of this pretty feminine Alicia Embroidered Blouse with its exaggerated sleeves, and relaxed bohemian feel.
It’s the perfect subtle light blue, another popular hue this season, to sit under the Carrie leopard print coat.

Its beautiful thread-work resembling vines and the cutest little frill collar also makes it a perfect partner for your favourite denims.
This would also look lovely under the velvet blazer and leather trousers.

The Velvet Blazer

Everyone’s wardrobe should have a velvet blazer especially in the run up to party season. It is an essential piece whose plush fabric adds easy glamour to an outfit. It sprinkles a little star dust over everything.
This black velvet blazer from Monsoon is ruched at its cropped sleeves to accentuate its decadent texture and padded shoulders.

The Pleated Skirt

One of my favourite combinations this time of year is a midi skirt and blazer. I love how the velvet blazer from Monsoon AW17 contrasts beautifully with this shimmering forrest green Phoebe Skirt.
Its fashion forward sharp pleats means that you can take it from office to a night out and it won’t loose its shape.

The Slogan T-Shirt

Never underestimate the power of a gorgeous blazer especially a plush velvet one teamed with a fun slogan tee.
This one from Monsoon AW17 with its ‘Bohemian At Heart’ spoke volumes to me and it’s always fun to literally say something with your clothes.
