Christmas Decorations – You Make My Heart Sing
Ever since I can remember, I have always looked forward to decorating the house for Christmas.
Deck the halls with boughs of Holly – oh yes please ! Count me in !
Every year, I try and add some new small decoration to our festive collection
to keep the house looking interesting.
And it’s a great excuse to wander around London’s Christmas shops which would lift the heart of even the biggest of Scrooges.
I decide on a theme and then go for it.
This year, I chose a white and silver simple Nordic Christmas and kept our tree quite simple with porcelain white bells and stars for the tree .
Archie was very keen to help decorate which of course I let him. But I had to fix it all after he went to bed.
You don’t know you have OCD until your child wants to decorate the tree.
I’ve decided to solve the problem of rouge Christmas decorations impulsive hanging, by putting a small tree in his room this year, so that he can hang whatever he wants in there.
This giant beaded star and the ride-on cream little car are things that will only add gorgeousness to your home for years to come.
Archie loves this little car – and it looks lovely parked in your living room.
Finding the right Christmas lights is always tricky. I try and find something a little more special and ones that will go to Christmas and beyond.
What little child, or adult even, doesn’t love a big Christmas sock all of their own to hang by the fireplace.
The grey fair isle knitted sock is gorgeous and is one of those special things that children will be thrilled to see being unpacked year after year.
