A Vinyl Biker Jacket From Topshop

Whatever glistens isn’t gold – unless of course it’s fashion gold. My recent unburied treasure from the high-street comes in the form of a vinyl biker jacket from Topshop. I love it, especially to add a little edge to my summer floral dresses.

Did I ever imagine falling for such a shiny piece a couple of years ago – God no – but its seductive patent edge drew me in.
In a slick black vinyl guise, this stylish biker jacket is a new season must-have. Featuring notched lapels, a front zip fastening and two vertical zip pockets, clash a vinyl biker jack with a floral dress and heels for a pretty look with a rebellious edge.

Coming into Autumn, and continuing from last year, the vinyl trend is going no-where. This Topshop number is a great price too and will look great teamed with winter skirts, boots and dresses.

Once the preserve of the dominatrix (hee hee), vinyl will be appearing from everything to trousers – don’t think I’ll be brave enough for these – and coats.
Also I’m going to be sticking (pardon the pun) to black vinyl too as it’s very easy to play down by adding it on top of feminine dresses and work wear trousers.
Contrasting the ying and yangs of fashion are always fun and nothing works better than a little girly and a little edge.
Many a fashionista despaired last year that their favourite pair of patent trousers had ripped – and were desperate to repair them ! I kid you not.

I also love how this shiny trend has trickled down to patent booties and shoes, which give a regular pair of jeans a massive punch.

Remember that these glossy jackets are a realistic alternative to denim and casual wear for us mere mortals too.
This jacket doesn’t squeak or feel sticky too – always a good thing in my book – a fashion victim I do not want to be in my own kitchen.
