Brace Yourself For The Corset Shirt

Corset Shirt – It’s A Thing

Every now and again a new little micro trend comes along that gives your wardrobe staples another push forward.
The new season that’s just around the corner has a lot of focus on the waist. There were numerous SS17 catwalk collections celebrating the mid-section and it’s going to continue with great pace for Autumn-Winter.

Enter one of my favourite pieces incorporating this new styling trend and it doesn’t cost the earth either.
This pale blue corset shirt from Topshop is so easy to wear, and looks pretty chic too.

Several Social Media style setters have been wearing wide waist belts and laced bodies over their shirts and dresses.
Hey, if they were good enough for the Victorians ?
But the joy with this corset shirt from Topshop, is this one does all the work for you.
Just button and go and you’ve moved ten paces ahead of the new season already.

The alluring thing about this trend and this shirt in fact, is that it is very flattering on most body shapes.
It makes your waist look tiny and creates a feminine silhouette leaving you with a curvy sexy shape.

Team the corset shirt with jeans or skirts, tuck it in or wear loosely out, the choice is yours.
There’s no reason why you can’t take your coolness to the office either or take your smart shirt out for drinks.
Over the coming weeks, you’ll notice woolies and all sorts with built in corsets, this shirt is only the tip of the style iceberg.
Team it with dangling earrings or a top handle bag and you’ve nailed the ultimate in layering.

I’ve paired mine with a little velvet – these great high-rise flare kicks from M.I.H, which are now in the sale are so nice to wear.
I love a little burgundy in Summer and it’s a key colour tone come Autumn.
So excuse me, while I go and pop on my corset shirt and get waisted.
